The United States is No Superhero, and Iran No Villain

The reason that Superman and other superheroes of the mid-20th century were bequeathed with, in a sense, undemocratic rights over other men and other human beings, was to protect and maintain the defenseless against their enemies. But in the case of Iran, the all powerful one [the U.S.] is taking a gamble.

The powers that the United States wields by virtue of the threat of force are beyond divine.

One of America's determinations, which is of the most importance, has to do with its refusal to permit other peoples to possess nuclear programs, even if they are for energy or health purposes, while the U.S. may possess such resources for any reason it may have, and which give it the right to impose its will upon others, that is to say, with its own nuclear arsenal.

This logic functions in a particular way in regard to America's close allies. Small States are permitted to develop atomic energy, for various objectives, and without criticism or control, if and only if they represent and defend the hegemonic interests of the great superpower.

It is truly a paradox when the keys of power are in the hands of a world-wide force, who plays a confidence game [a con-game] to determine who is trustworthy, who is a democrat and who is a dictator.

Perhaps the 21st century will be one of truth and an awakening of conscience, favoring dignity, justice, and a sense of equality for all of the world's communities.

The fight against the imposition of force cannot be seen as utopian, but will require those who are equally oppressed to come together, and in unison seek changes in the relations between nations.

It's time for us to recognize that we are at a true crossroads; that of agreement, discussion and dialogue. Those that are weak and have been oppressed, those that have been excluded from the game by the powerful, and those that have been subject to exclusionary treatment disguised as legal and democratic principles, must expose the handle and blade of the long sword, always in the background, with which [the U.S.] imposes its will.

Iran is a test for this paradox of strength and reason.

Irán y la lógica del poder

LAS RAZONES DE SUPERMAN y de los héroes del medio siglo XX, el sentido antidemocrático de que el poder y la fuerza da derechos sobre otros hombres, otros seres humanos, incluido el de establecer sus enemigos, defenderlos y mantenerlos indefensos, el derecho del poderoso se está jugando en el caso de Irán.

Son más que divinos los poderes que Estados Unidos ejercen como derecho de la razón fuerza.

La determinación más importante tiene que ver con la negativa de que otros pueblos alcancen, aunque sea para fines de energía y salud, lo que para ellos sí es permitido para todos los fines y les da el derecho a imponer su voluntad, es decir, la ventaja de poseer arsenales atómicos.

La lógica funciona de una manera particular cuando se trata de sus aliados cercanos. Estados pequeños pueden desarrollar energía atómica, para diversos objetivos sin críticas y sin control, sólo si representan y defienden los intereses hegemónicos de la gran potencia.

Realmente es una paradoja, las llaves de la fuerza, en manos de una potencia mundial que determina por otros medios, en un juego de intereses quién es digno de confianza, quién es demócrata y quién es dictador.

Posiblemente el siglo XXI sea un siglo de verdades, del despertar de la conciencia para sacudir en razón de la dignidad y de la justicia, el sentido igualitario de los pueblos del mundo.

No puede ser utopía la lucha contra la imposición de la fuerza, la concreción de acuerdos por parte de quienes, iguales ante la opresión, juntan sus voces y sus acciones para buscar el cambio en las relaciones entre na ciones.

El tiempo está abierto para las verdaderas cruzadas, las del acuerdo, la discusión y el diálogo. Las que sumen débiles oprimidos y poderosos apartados del juego, sojuzgados por la acción excluyente que se disfraza de principios de democracia y de leyes, pero que muestra en los foros el filo y el mango de la larga espada con que imponen su voluntad.

Irán es una prueba para la paradoja de la fuerza y la razón.

Venezuela está del lado de la razón y de la dignidad de los pueblos.
