'The Peace of the Yankee is the Peace of the Grave'

The demolition of Lebanon, which Israel is executing in the middle of a farce mounted by the United States around its "struggle" to achieve a "lasting peace," has as its most visible protagonist Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Along these lines, one should also mention the crocodile tears shed over Lebanese civilians during the shameful meeting between George W. Bush and his butler, Tony Blair . How nice of Bush to promise the reconstruction of a stable and, of course, "democratic" Lebanon! Maybe we should ask the poor and the Blacks of New Orleans, still without roofs over their heads, what they think about such declarations.

The Bushista mafia tries to convince us that it works for peace, while it arms Israel to the teeth. Meanwhile, no one in the world has any doubt that they are dedicated to torpedoing any attempt to contain Israel; and they have even expedited the latest generation of bunker-busting bombs to their allies, so that they may increase the efficiency of their butchery. Israel, meanwhile, is taking advantage of the fact that the world's gaze is fixed on Lebanon to ratchet up the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza.

Washington has systematically prevented the U.N. Security Council from condemning the genocidal government of Ehud Olmert and demanding a ceasefire, despite there being an ample global consensus on the issue. The trip to Rome by Condi and her entourage is part of a game to keep up appearances, while desperately playing for time so that their Israeli partners can achieve the objectives of their military campaign; or at least ultimately save face. Because things are going rather badly, both on the battlefield and in the court of international public opinion, which is repudiating this war crimes ever more vigorously.

It is evident that although the executor of the attacks against Lebanon and Gaza is the Zionist army, the campaign has been jointly planned by Washington and Tel Aviv - within that aberration that almost no one believes in called "the War on Terrorism" - which consists of plans to seize the planet's natural resources and eliminate governments and populations that are not inclined to kneel before the new international Nazi order that Bush has tried to impose since September 11, 2001.

In this war, movements of national liberation like the Palestinian Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbullah constitute the main targets, since they constitute the greatest stumbling block to the Yankee-Israeli "restructuring" of the Middle East and are an open challenge to plans to enslave humanity, drawn up by those who aspire to be masters of the world.

Aggression against Lebanon has also had the effect of shining a light on a process of mediation that is more slanted toward one side than ever before. Except for a few honorable exceptions, Washington has sought to justify Israel's war crimes with the hypocritical and self-righteous argument that, "Israel has the right to defend itself."

A ceasefire together with the insertion of an international force in South Lebanon, so clearly directed against Hezbullah as Washington and Tel Aviv want, will be very difficult to orchestrate. This is because Israel, beyond the mass murder of civilians, the wave of hundreds of thousands of refugees and the wholesale destruction of the civilian infrastructure, has failed to reduce the capabilities or combat readiness of the Islamic movement. On the other hand, polls show that the popularity of Hezbullah in the Country of the Cedar is now at its highest levels ever, not only among Shiite Muslims, but also among Sunnis, Maronite Christians and the Druze. As a result, a solution of the conflict that fails to account for the demands of Hezbullah is condemned to failure.

Any authentic and lasting resolution of the contentious situation in the Middle East must pay due attention to its true origins of the crisis, which stem from the imperialistic partition of the world by the great powers after World War I, and to the colonialist, racist and aggressive nature of the Hebrew State which arose as a consequence. It must take into account all the forces and governments in the region which have been affected by the aggression and threats of the United States and Israel. Prescriptions concocted in or out of the Security Council without the participation of Hezbullah, the Palestinians, Syria and Iran will only prolong the unjust situation that led to the present crisis.

In that case, it is clear for Palestinians and Lebanese that they should continue their resistance, which is recognized as legitimate under international law and the most advanced trends of political thought.

Líbano: la paz yanqui de los sepulcros

La demolición de Líbano que lleva a cabo Israel transcurre en medio de una farsa montada por Estados Unidos en torno a sus "esfuerzos" para conseguir una paz "duradera", cuya protagonista más visible es la secretaria de Estado, Condoleezza Rice. En ese tenor, las lágrimas de cocodrilo vertidas por los civiles libaneses en el bochornoso encuentro entre W. Bush y su criado Tony Blair. Qué simpático Bush prometiendo la reconstrucción de un Líbano estable y, faltaría más, "democrático". Que pregunten a los negros y a los pobres de Nueva Orleáns todavía sin techo.

La mafia bushista pretende hacernos creer que trabaja por la paz, cuando es ella la que arma hasta los dientes a Israel y a nadie en este mundo le queda la menor duda de que se ha dedicado a torpedear todos los intentos por detenerlo e incluso le envía de urgencia bombas rompe-búnker de última generación para que eleve su productividad en la carnicería. Mientras, Israel aprovecha que las miradas se dirigen a Líbano para incrementar la limpieza étnica de palestinos en Gaza.

Washington ha impedido sistemáticamente que el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU condene al gobierno genocida de Ehud Olmert y le exija un cese del fuego pese a existir un amplio consenso internacional al respecto. El paseo de Condoleezza y su asistencia a la reunión de Roma son parte de un juego para cubrir las apariencias, mientras es obvio que trata de ganar tiempo desesperadamente para que su socio israelí cumpla los objetivos de la campaña bélica o, al menos, salve la cara a última hora, ya que tan mal le va en el campo de batalla y ante la opinión pública internacional, que cada vez repudia más vigorosamente sus crímenes de guerra.

Es evidente que aunque en la arremetida contra Líbano y Gaza el ejecutor es el ejército sionista, ésta ha sido planificada conjuntamente entre Washington y Tel Aviv dentro de esa aberración en la que ya casi nadie cree llamada "guerra contra el terrorismo", que consiste en un proyecto para apoderarse de las riquezas naturales del planeta y acabar con los gobiernos y pueblos que no inclinan la cerviz ante el nuevo orden nazi internacional que Bush intenta implantar a partir del 11 de septiembre de 2001.

En esta guerra, movimientos de liberación nacional como el palestino Hamas y el libanés Hezbollah constituyen objetivos esenciales a destruir por cuanto comportan un grave escollo en la "restructuración" yanqui-israelí de una zona pletórica en hidrocarburos como es el Medio Oriente y un abierto desafío a los planes de esclavizar a la humanidad trazados por los aspirantes a dueños del mundo.

La agresión a Líbano también ha tenido la característica de mostrar una industria mediática más mendaz y sesgada que nunca y que, salvo honrosas y muy contadas excepciones, ha intentado justificar los crímenes de guerra de Israel con el farisaico argumento de que "tiene derecho de defenderse".

El cese del fuego unido a una fuerza de interposición internacional en el sur de Líbano claramente dirigida contra Hezbollah, como quieren Washington y Tel Aviv, será muy difícil de instrumentar porque Israel, más allá de los asesinatos de civiles en masa, la ola de cientos de miles de refugiados y el despedazamiento de la infraestructura civil de ese país, no ha conseguido reducir la capacidad ni disposición combativa del movimiento islámico. Por otra parte, se sabe por encuestas que la popularidad de éste es hoy más alta que nunca en el país del cedro, no sólo entre los musulmanes chiítas, sino entre sunitas, cristianos maronitas y drusos. De modo que una salida al conflicto que no tome en cuenta las demandas de Hezbollah está condenada al más rotundo fracaso.

Cualquier solución auténtica y duradera al contencioso del Medio Oriente debe atender a sus verdaderos orígenes en el reparto imperialista del mundo posterior a la Primera Guerra Mundial y al carácter colonial, racista y agresivo del Estado hebreo surgido como consecuencia. Debe tomar en cuenta a todas las fuerzas y gobiernos afectados por la agresividad y las amenazas de Estados Unidos e Israel en la región. Recetas cocinadas dentro o fuera del Consejo de Seguridad, sin dar participación a Hezbollah, a los palestinos, a Siria y a Irán sólo conducirán a prolongar el injusto orden de cosas actual.

En ese caso, para palestinos y libaneses queda claro que el camino es continuar la resistencia, derecho reconocido por la ley internacional y el pensamiento político más avanzado.
