Time for Arabs to Unite Against Washington

The United States, pawn of the 'Zionist Threat' [Israel], now threatens Syria to 'justify its own failure' in Iraq. According to this article from Syria's State-run newspaper Teshreen, Washington's threat to Syria is a threat to the entire Arab World, all of which must now 'close ranks and prepare to defend themselves.'

The pressures currently being applied to Syria not only target this steadfast Arab country, but are meant to undermine the very basis of joint Arab action. In response to this unjustified attack, disguised as a search for the truth behind the assassination of a former Lebanese Prime Minister [Harriri], the Arab countries must close ranks and prepare to defend themselves.

This is their [the Arabs'] legitimate right, and is sanctioned by international law and conventions.

What is being demanded from the Arab countries is that they support their own just causes [i.e. rallying around Syria], and call on the international community to pursue a single set of standards when it issues resolutions.

It is becoming obvious that whenever hostile forces led by the U.S. step up their slander campaign, the regional situation gets worse. But the only superpower left in the world, the United States, continues to insist on a double standard that targets Syria, a country that is still partially occupied by Israel.

Instead of putting an end to Israeli violations of human rights in occupied Arab territories, and instead of asking Israel to abide by U.N. resolutions regarding problems in the Middle East, Washington offers every moral and material assistance to the aggressors.

Moreover, the entire Arab world is falling victim to the expansionist, hegemonic policies of Washington. Contrary to every hope and expectation, the U.S. Administration is working to control Arab countries and seize their natural resources by the use of threats and military action. American policy makers seek to return the entire region to colonial rule, which goes hand in hand with the expansionist strategy of the Zionists. [Israel].

Bush: 'Do you think we're causing the world any trouble?'     [Al-Khaleej, U.A.E.]
Sharon: 'No, not at all.'

This is the backdrop, and as American threats and accusations have multiplied against Syria, America's occupation army in Iraq is facing further resistance. For this reason, Washington repeatedly resorts to underhanded tactics to justify its own failure, like it does when it accuses Syria of helping infiltrators [terrorists] cross the border into Iraq. This is just one of many examples of an American bias toward Israel, and that prove Washington's connivance with the continuing State terror of the Sharon government. Israel's collective massacres [collective punishment?] and its violations of legitimately passed international resolutions is the proof of its illegality.

The way Washington sides with Israel on the one hand, and launches a crusade against the Arabs, Syria in particular, on the other, is further proof the double standards of the United States.
