In the name of democracy, the United States continues to dismember the Arab world and advance completely false arguments. On paper, the partition of Iraq into three separate States is already complete, and will be effective as soon as hostilities are over. Syria, which had already been divided by the Sykes-Picot Agreement during the last century [1916], is on the verge of a new disaster. Other Arabic countries are being targeted by the United States. But currently, Sudan is where this policy of dismemberment is most active.
President Omar Al-Bechir

Since all eyes are today focused on military developments in Iraq, the United States is conducting operations to encourage secessionist activity in the country of Omar Al-Bechir [Field Marshal Omar Hasan Ahmad al-Bashir, President of Sudan] without attracting too much attention.
This [U.S.] operation has consists of "encouraging" the leaders in the south of the country, the successors of John Garang, to create an independent sovereign nation there. Two important institutions operating in Sudan - the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs [LINK] and the International Republican Institute [LINK] - have been assigned the task. They are both overseen by their respective [American] political parties. This goes to show that when it comes to foreign policy, the "Donkey" and the "Elephant" have the same line of conduct. One could even say an equal and perfectly matching line.

[Editor's Note: Dr. John Garang de Mabior (June 23, 1945 ñ July 30, 2005) was the vice president of Sudan and former leader of the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army. He was killed in a suspicious helicopter crash][READ MORE].
The International Republican Institute, which has held many "congresses" on the political, social and economic situation of South-Sudan, states that 65% of Sudanese are "Africans" and that only 35% of the population are "Arabs." These numbers are totally unreliable since no official census has ever been taken in Sudan. When asked during a "referendum" organized by the same organization, most South-Sudanese are reported to have asserted: "In five years, we will vote for the partition of Sudan."
Besides, when Sylvan Kir Myardett, South-Sudan's new "favorite," replacing John Garang, came to Washington for a visit a few days ago, he was welcomed as the true leader of an independent country, and not as the vice president of all of Sudan, which is his current position. What is also revealing is that when he was in Washington, according to a reliable source, Myardett confirmed that "Omar Al-Bechir (the President of Sudan) was convinced that the south was planning to secede."Ý
